The Cramer’s Sabers Battalion Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)
Alumni conducted the 2011 University of Rhode Island ROTC Hall of Fame
induction ceremony Saturday, September 17th, 2011 at the
University Club. The
ceremony introduced 8 new members into the ROTC Hall of Fame, including
Major General (Promotable) Michael T. Flynn ’81 and Major General
(Retired) Roger A. Nadeau ’74. Inducted posthumously and represented by
their family members were Colonel (Retired) John J. Christy ’38, Colonel
(Retired) Elisha O. Peckham ‘34, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Phillip J.
Gilchrist ’50, Captain John L. Creech ’41, First Lieutenant Daniel R.
Dye ’66, and Second Lieutenant Ryan A. Bressler ’50.
The eight new inductees join 20 previously inducted members of
the URI ROTC Hall of Fame.
Many family members and friends of the selectees attended the ceremony
along with several other previous Hall of Fame inductees and alumni.
Ms Michelle Nota, Executive Director of Alumni Operations,
presented greetings from the university, and the ROTC Color guard under
the command of Cadet Sergeant Major Ryan Satherlie presented the colors.
